The Anvil – A Nationally Renowned Concert Venue

Basingstoke offers a quality of live music performances comparable to that of major UK cities thanks to the Anvil Concert Hall.

Designed by RHWL and Arup Acoustics, The Anvil opened in 1994 and is rated one of the top five concert halls in the UK for the quality of its acoustics. 

The venue hosts a varied programme of classical, jazz, country, folk and popular music. Orchestral music is its flagship attraction, with a strong programme featuring big-name soloists and conductors. Audiences are attracted regularly from across the south of England.

Anvil Arts also runs the 400-seat theatre, The Haymarket, which presents a wide range of theatrical and dance performances.
