Whitchurch is a small town of 4,400, located within the borough. Through the town flows the River Test, a famous chalkland trout stream that provided power for the town mills that at different times processed grain, wool and silk.
Surrounded by rolling farmland and equidistant from, Basingstoke, Andover, Newbury and Winchester, Whitchurch has a clear identity of its own and a strong sense of community. The town has light industry, offices and shops that provide local employment.
Many residents find it a good place to live, and they commute from here to their jobs in more distant locations.
